Manage Ideas & Requests

Key Features

Overview

Great ideas can come from anywhere. We need to collect and organize those ideas. You may also want to attribute the source, and attach supporting information for the ideas, as we do our due diligence for them. This intake process is an important part of Product Management and thus there needs to be a fully-capable tool for managing the process. Even better if the tool is integrated with the rest of your Product workflow – that’s what Productfolio brings to the table.

Stakeholder Requests

Stakeholders can have a lot of requests for the Product Management team, whether it is Marketing asking to add tracking tags or the Customer Care team advising on key issues that are confusing customers. Productfolio provides a special type of account and dashboard for these internal partners, that allows them to easily submit requests and check the status of those requests. This makes it easy for the team to stay on top of all of these requests and not get bogged down by one-off requests for updates. And for your stakeholder partners, it’s a great way to help them feel more a part of the process – the stakeholder account is not just a place to submit requests – they can also vote on a selection of ideas you want feedback on, and review roadmap, and the projects they’re a part of – all from one place.

Public Voting & Suggestions

There are times when you may want to open the floor to key customers or the general public to hear their ideas for your product. The optional Ideas Portal can be enabled to allow anyone to make a suggestion, or to vote on a collection of selected items that you’re considering for your roadmap.

Cataloging Ideas

You may have received many ideas from Stakeholders, executives, customers, or resulting from your own research. What you do next is key to make the most of this valuable information as it comes in. Productfolio makes it easy to tag ideas as you see similarities, attribute ideas to Themes so specific team members can perform due diligence on them, and to search for ideas later after they have been cataloged.

Promoting Ideas for Work

Once you’ve started processing and cataloging the ideas that have come in, you’re likely starting to realize the need to promote, archive, or merge some of the ideas in your collection. It’s a breeze to take these actions directly inline from the catalog, for specific items and even bulk action in cases where you what to merge or archive an entire group of ideas.
